Introduction to General history of the things of New Spain by Bernardino de Sahagún

Abstract

This article serves as an introduction to the Czech translation of an excerpt from the chronicle written by Spanish chronicler Bernardino de Sahagún, which was published in the academic journal Svět literatury (The World of literature). Its purpose is to present a general context of the work, the person of its author and inform the reader about the chosen strategy of the translation.
