Abstract
Between Leibniz and Newton; or on the war in the Enlightenment. The article focuses on the events surrounding the discovery of Leibniz-Newton's formula.
The indefinite integral, which has become the main cornerstone of the dispute between these two thinkers, is then a supporting pillar for the author of interpreting the transformation of the way of warfare in the history of the Enlightenment. While Newton's influence grows after this discovery, the star of Leibniz's popularity is slowly declining, which we can see with the author in the history of the competition essays of the Royal Academy of Prussia in Berlin.
