Abstract
Preschoolers need to use their hands to explore nature. Without tactile (haptic) stimuli, their knowledge of the world cannot be complete.
Working with natural materials is one of the very important ways in which children can get to know nature. No photographs, films or work with plastics will replace the long-term contact of children's hands with sand, mud, clay, soil, snow, leaves, rustle, stones, fur, feathers or wicker.
In this article, I would like to point out the possibility of growing a basket willow in the school garden or in its vicinity - a valuable source of wicker, cheap and pleasant natural material.
