On Peculiarities of the Foreign Policy of Personalist Regimes (Example of Turkmenistan)

Publication at Faculty of Social Sciences |
2021

Abstract

The text applies the theory of personalism in the foreign policy based on the case of the centralised regime in Turkmenistan. It does not focus on foreign policy of the state per se, but rather on the figure of the leader and implication of its personal interests into the foreign policy.

It shows that despite of the declarative foreign policy of the state, this factor has more real basic than it has been presumed so far.
