Abstract
There are a number of intergenerational projects that involve young people and the elderly. Some of them work on a somewhat one-sided basis: the senior does not know something and the young "teach it to them." But there are other programmes that involve both generations equally.
Judita Matyášová will present inspiring projects from the Czech Republic and Denmark, where long-term support for senior activities works. The Danish society motivates seniors to volunteer in libraries, museums or galleries.
Judita Matyášová has been working on intergenerational relations in the Czech Republic and Denmark since 2010. Last year, she was a guest lecturer at Aarhus University in Denmark, where she presented Czech intergenerational projects during the winter semester and explored the senior community in this Scandinavian country.
The main topic of Judita Matyášová's dissertation is a content analysis of letters written by seniors in the Czech Republic as part of the international 4EU project Letter to a Grandchild and explores what the oldest generation is saying to the youngest.
