Motives and motivation in current piano education

Abstract

The article provides an analysis of the current state of piano teaching in public and private sector in the Czech republic. It outlines and looks into motives that lead to an interest in piano studies and their effects confronting motivational education approaches and their results.

Summarizing the issue sets the prerequisites for optimal solution of teaching the instrumental interpretation in the context of current age by updating the instructive literature and flexibility of teachers' behaviour in systems of motivation.
