Lamentation narrative and exalted self-presentation in coronavirus interviews

Publication |
2021

Abstract

The paper deals with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic SARS-CoV-2 on the professional and personal lives of freelance musicians. During the oral-historical research following the previous project (diploma thesis), I focused mainly on the ways in which these impacts are reflected by the actors of the historically informed performance of early music.

Emotionally acute representations of the complex professional and personal situation associated with anti-coronavirus measures often take on a lamentation character, in which narrators emphasize their role as victims.
