In the philosophy of J.G. Herder violance has a very specific position.
This is namely, the kind of activity which should gradually decrease, the closer we are to the next circle of creation. In this paper, we will focus on Herder's philosophy of history and look at the role that violence plays in it.
We will also pay attention to the connection between violence and pain. According to Herder, violence will decrease in the course of the ensuing history, but it is quite possible that there will be no pain.
According to him, there are two ways to complete a person. It is a path of love and just a path of pain.
I want to focus my contribution on these two paths to completion. Together we will try to answer the question of how Herder's "superman" or "out-man" has to do with violence.
