The lecture summarizes the actual state of the research project that is focused on the analysis of media images of the USSR and USA in a long period between 1917-1953. The main aim is to overcome the Cold war schema of a description of these two powerful states and to find a rational interpretation of the way of writing about them.
The analysis of sources indicates that established historical cornerstones of Czechoslovak political history did not interrupt the way of utterances, but they were changing under the pressure of events. The author is tracking and describing the historical process of emerging of knowledge about lands of tomorrows.
