Abstract

The question as to how one perceives art has been recently tackled by the compound of aesthetics and the neurosciences. The possibility to scan the brain activity in fMRI has opened the way to explore neuronal base of aesthetic judgements; it has, however, also shown the persistence of philosophical questions about what distinguishes aesthetic judgements or experience.
