Quality Assessment in Simultaneous Interpreting: From Quality Assessment Models to User Expectations

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2021

Abstract

In the beginning of the presentation, I offered a short summary of research on quality assessment in simultaneous interpreting, focusing primarily on its development since the early 1970s to the 2nd decade of this century. Then, I presented a study conducted at the Institute of Translation Studies with five master's degree students, who simultaneously interpreted a speech from Spanish to Czech and then completed a questionnaire evaluating their own interpreting.

As part of the study, the interpreting was evaluated by five general users and five student-users. At the end of the presentation, the results of the study were presented.
