Abstract
At present, there is an urgent need to significantly accelerate the digitization of our entire society, especially medicine in routine clinical practice. Today, it includes the possibility of videoconferences with the patient, electronic medical records entries, the use of all elements of remote monitoring, including peripheral systems sensing physiological parameters, etc.
This system as a whole will also enable future coordination of medical care from general practitioners to regional hospitals to super-specialized care centers. The chapter defines the concept of telemedicine, introduces its forms, legal aspects, and cyber security issues.
