The paper will introduce the PERO OCR program developed by the Moravská zemská knihovna and the Transkribus program developed by the READ-COOP SCE platform, originating from the University of Innsbruck. Both of these programs specialize in automatic text recognition and transcription generation, both for prints and manuscripts.
The aim will be to focus on the possibilities of these programs for transcription and transliteration of Old Czech texts, presenting and comparing already completed automatic transcriptions of the text of the Cistercian Bible (rkp., New York City, The Morgan Library & Museum, shelfmark MS M.752, 1456).
