Social enterprises play important role in employing persons disadvantaged on the labour market and significantly extend the offer of protected work positions under the Employment Act. They contribute to the integration of persons at the risk of social exclusion as well.
However, this issue has not been sufficiently described yet and information on the role of social enterprises in this area is very fragmentary and often incompatible with each other. The study therefore focuses first on clarifying the segment of social enterprises and social enterprises employing persons aged 50 or older.
It focuses on conditions and settings related to the employment of persons aged 50 or older as well. Subsequently, the basic characteristics of the selected group of entities are described according to available data sources.
The limitations which restrain the ability of existing data sources to characterize the segment of social enterprises more precisely are discussed in the end
