This presentation described the current state of research as well as the research goals of the interdisciplinary project "Interlinking language and material culture", funded through Charles University's START initiative. In particular, it covered the toponomastic data sources used for Bavaria and their processing according to the project's methodology.
This involved explanation of (i) the structure of the project's toponomastic database, (ii) approaches to linguistic elaboration categorization of the toponyms, (iii) post-processing of the data using the R programming language and (iv) the capabilities of GIS for their visual representation.
