Little green friends: We grow microgreens

Abstract

Growing microgreens is part of a modern healthy lifestyle. Microgreens are young plants of various types of vegetables (eg radish, peas, mung, sunflower, watercress, cabbage), which are grown mainly indoors on the soil in bowls or trays.

Young plants are harvested at about the age of ten days and are used to flavor food. Thanks to their easy cultivation, growing microgreens is a suitable activity for preschool children in kindergarten, especially in the winter months, when it is not possible to grow vegetables in the garden.

The article briefly introduces the program Growing microgreens in kindergartens.
