Theoretical study is situated at the borderland between the art education, visual culture and the art theory. It struggles to set the issue of the reflective art portfolio in the context of the art theory and visual culture.
In a theoretical study the description of particular didactic approaches and situations is framed by theoretical thinking. It represents a portfolio that is systematically mapping the art education in the primary school between the years 2016-2020.
This large set of data functions as an archive situated at the border between a document, estetics and pedagogy, presenting an example of one selected album. The text investigates main principles of the work with the portfolio: intertextuality, the nature of the photographic picture, reproducibility of the digital photograph and selectivity of the archive.
On the basis of the above mentioned theoretical solutions it follows the analogies between approach that are used by the teacher and those used by the curator. It speculates about competences of the art education teacher in the area of the theory and history of the art and shows the situations where the teacher has to demonstrate the knowledge of the art.
The results and conclusions of the study will be used in the professional training of teachers.
