The article focuses on the possibilities of motivating the pupil to learn playing the music instrument at the music school, especially to induce the flow experience. The author draws on the theory of flow by M.
Csikszentmihalyi in defining the concept of flow and determining the criteria needed to induce this experience. The aim of the article is to introduce readers to the possibilities of creating conditionsfor the flow state in pupils playing a musical instrument at the music school and using the Flow Music Method by E.
Newsome during the exercise and preparation of the pupils performances. The author also mentions some of her experience in practice.
