The paper deals with the Dogon religion, the original sub-Saharan religion of ethnic, which is closely linked to the Bandiagara cliff in the southern part of West African Mali. The aim of the paper is to draw attention to the existence of a unique religious tradition, to offer a differentiation of available information about this tradition and to warn against the typical shortcomings of contemporary research in the field of some traditional African religions.
I work on the topic on the basis of my own field research and comparison of relevant literature, as well as the relationship of available information with respect to the surrounding religions, especially the West African Vodun.
