Abstract
Lecture on the first novel Silence (O silêncio, 1981) by the contemporary Portuguese author Teolinda Gersão. The novel with postmodern elements is considered to be one of the first significant expressions of the female literary voice after the Carnation Revolution in 1974.
It is also a pioneering ecofeminist text. The author works here with open-closed space and various forms of water.
