The study explores the question of what liturgies and music resounded in the space around the Pilsen Madonna in the parish church of St Bartholomew up to the Hussite wars. In order to answer this question, the author examined indulgence documents granted to the main church in Pilsen (Plzeň) and descriptions of the liturgy from later times.
Due to the lack of manuscripts with musical notation and direct testimonies from pre-Hussite Pilsen, the situation in the Cistercian monastery at Vyšší Brod is taken into comparision. There is also a Marian statue and corresponding documents, and, additionally, notated manuscripts directly connected to the the cult.
