The purpose of the article is to identify the language policy towards migrants in the Czech Republic as well as to find out what are the latest trends and strategies to follow. Different levels of migration policy in all stages of the migration process are researched – from entry into the country to each category of residence permits, including international protection (mostly asylum), permanent residency and the granting of Czech citizenship.
Key laws and strategic documents are analyzed in detail with special focus on integration policy and the role of the Czech language in this complex process. The issue of language minority rights is also mentioned.
