Supporting Students with ASD at the University

Abstract

Students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) form a specific group that requires support from academics and other staff. Increasingly, we also encounter the characteristics of individuals with ASD as neurodiverse individuals, ie. showing differences in cognitive processing, which does not automatically mean a handicap.

The paper analyzes the support measures of the students and focuses on the aspects of support necessary for the successful completion of studies.
