Mathematical texts: from distributional phraseology to a portrait of the discipline

Abstrakt

The present paper is concerned with the distributional phraseology of mathematical research papers. Moreover, it illustrates how an analysis and description of the phraseology of such specialised texts can help reveal the thinking processes and structures of arguments practiced within a particular discipline.
