Abstract
The paper deals with the unchangeable provisions of the constitutional documents. In the introduction to the paper, the relationship between the material focus of the constitution and the eternity clause is discussed in detail.
The main part of the paper is devoted to a comparative view of the unchangeable provisions of the constitutional charters of ten selected states. The basic material features of the institute are the sovereignty of the people, binding by law, binding the exercise of state power by law, basic human rights and temptations, division of power and normative powers between several state bodies, prohibition of retroactivity of legal norms, principle of legal certainty and postulate of clarity and certainty of legal norms.
