Abstract
This study guide deals with the creation of specialized catalogues of historical book collections. After an introduction on historical book collections and their composition, it describes separately for manuscripts and printed production the specifics of these media, their Czech general catalogues, the standards used and the method of contributing to thesecatalogues.
Next, the Manuscriptorium manuscript catalogue and its services are described and finally the integrated database of Bohemian prints and manuscripts up to 1800 in the portal Knihověda.cz and the procedure of identifying editions of Bohemian early printed books in the portal. It is intended for the staff of memory institutions that manage and process historical book collections and would like to include their records in general catalogues.
