Interdisciplinary approach in foreign language teaching and learning: where to find intercultural communicative competence?

Abstract
The chapter deals with possible conceptions of interdisciplinarity in teaching and learning on e general level and explains possible obstacles to implement interdisciplinary approach in the Czech educational context. Consequently, theory behind interdisciplinary approach withing foreign language teaching with specific attention paid to learners' development of ICC is introduced.
The above mentioned is illustrated with concrete examples from the area of learners' ICC development in Russian language.
