Abstract
Workshop was a part of International virtual springschool of fennistics, which was held in Zoom from 1st to 4th April 2021 and organised by the Institute of Scandinavistic and Fennistic Studies of the University of Cologne. The workshop dealt with the ways to depict spoken language in Finnish fiction, e.g. slang and dialects, and the challenge translators have to face when translating it into their target language.
The material of the workshop consisted from the texts from different periods, among others written by Katja Kettu, Rosa Liksom and Pentti Saarikoski.
