In 1907-1961, 26 Czech-language newspapers were published in Argentina. The paper introduce the characteristic features of the inmigrant press and define what makes the inmigrant newspapers different from the contemporary press published back in Czechoslovakia.
The cultural and partly linguistic features in the newspapters reflects the intercultural contact of immigrants with other settled European and non-European inimgrant communities in Argentina. Language contact with Spanish-speaking societies was manifested in the newspapers by Spanish-language borrowings, primarily in the advertising and advertising sections of the periodicals, and later by entire Spanish-language articles.
