One of the hallmarks of commonly spoken language is its economy; it results in the less number of nouns, replaced by pronouns and gestures. Based on observations, it can be argued that the number of deictic gestures is in the opposite to the frequency of nouns and the number of iconic gestures in the opposite proportion to the richness of verbs in the lexicon of a certain speaker.
In other words, the more gestures, the fewer nouns, and the more iconic gestures, the fewer verbs. We will verify this assumption together with other quantitative indicators on aphasic and non-aphatic Czech speakers.
