Ohrid - Lychnidos: The formation of the Via Egnatia from an archaeological and geological perspective

Abstrakt

The aim of the lecture is to present the results of the ongoing Czech-Macedonian archaeological research on the shores of Lake Ohrid. The lecture will present the first results that bring new impulses to the discussion on the emergence of the main communication of the ancient world in the Eastern Mediterranean, namely the Via Egnatia, which connected Constantinople with the Adriatic coast and further on to Rome.
