Abstract
The measles are important infectious disease - the first description of the individual clinical unit is from the end of the 18th century. The data about the situatio in the Czechoslovakia is for the use since middle of the 19th century.
The important change of the epidemiological situation is associated with the start of the vaccination in 1969; the schedule formed of 2 doses started in 1982. The deterioration of the epidemiological stuation is associated with the decrease of the coverage of vaccination, waning immunity, and the increase of the risk of imported infections.
The problematic is very intimate for health workers, too.
