Journalist Judita Matyášová has long been interested in the senior community and intergenerational relations. Eleven years ago, she came to Denmark for the first time and was struck by the fact that there is a completely different view of the elderly than in our country.
In the Czech Republic, the prevailing image is of a passive elderly person who is dependent on the help of those around them. In Denmark, on the other hand, the senior is presented as a super-action hero who is important to society.
However, nothing is as black and white as it might seem at first sight. In 2020, Judita Matyášová moved to Denmark to film interviews about the lives of seniors there.
Find out what they can inspire us with and what they could learn from us. The lecture was for members of the Grandparents' Story Reading Club, where there are senior volunteers who come to read regularly at the nursery.
