Dr. Zoran Tairović is a multimedia artist from Serbia.
He received his doctorate on the topic "Symbolism of Roma Fine Arts and the European System of Cultural Values". He believes that culture represents the identity of every nation, and that for Rome it could become a very important instrument for empowerment and better positioning in society.
According to available sources and a wealth of literature, the role of this nomadic people in the history of European ideas was first recorded in the early Renaissance. Roma art was deeply woven into the foundations of that time, which bore the epithets of rebirth and progress.
The cradle of the Renaissance became the Mediterranean, and Italy became the mother of the gathering of free ideas of Byzantium, Spain, France, and Germany. In addition to their own Roma music, the Roma have had and still have a great influence in the evolution of flamenco music and dance.
Apart from flamenco music whose roots are in Spain, the Roma are the bearers of many directions in music and are known as chalgi in Turkey, Bulgaria and Macedonia, trumpeters in Serbia and tamburitza players in Vojvodina and Hungary.
