Educational pathways and learners with disabilities in Europe

Abstract

Education for learners with disabilities has a long tradition accross the European countries. Differences in culture, history and atttitudes shared by individual countries shape live-course of individuals.

The life-course approach as a research strategies has a potential to explore and understand similarities and differences in implementation of common European disability strategies. Our results suggest that the majority of the European countries are short in implementing principles of community-based services into practice in particular.
