In his article, the author pays attention to an important theoretical but also highly practical issue of the relationship between the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms and international human rights treaties. Due attention is paid to the change in the status of the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, first in connection with the dissolution of the Czechoslovak federation and later in the rulings of the Constitutional Court.
Attention is also paid to the issue of the possibility of withdrawing from obligations established by international treaties and the solution of this issue by the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms itself.
