Abstract

Point-of-care ultrasonography (POCUS) is a method defined as a targeted ultrasonographic examination of a patient with an acute symptom or syndrome performed and interpreted by the attending health care practitioner at the patient's location and in order to answer a specific diagnostic or therapeutic issue or to facilitate the therapeutic procedure. Emergency ultrasonography (EUSG) is a subcategory POCUS and we speak of it when POCUS is used in a patient with an acute symptom or urgent medical syndrome [.

This document defines the range of recommended knowledge for the use of the EUSG in clinical practice.
