Abstract
The article summarizes the life and work of the historical cartographer and geographer Ivan Kupčík (1943-2022). he worked in the Map Collection of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Charles University. In 1980 he emigrated to Germany and worked at the University of Munich.
He became a recognized expert in the field of historical cartography.
