16 ELC 54 epicardial fractally coated screw-in leads were studied over a period of one year. The ELC 54 leads exhibited markedly lower pacing thresholds than the non-fractal screw-in epicardial leads.
Pacing thresholds of the ELC 54 were higher than those in endocardia! leads, as er;expected, maintaining their maximum still in the third month after implant. Low impedance observed seems So be a drawback of this epicardial lead with respect to the necessity of a higher pacemaker output programming.
