Abstrakt
Ftorafur was administered i.p. to C57 B16 mice in single doses of 40, 80 and 160 mg/kg b.w. Bone-marrow cells were examined 6, 12, 24 and 48 h after administration.
The highest frequency of chromosomal aberrations was present after 24 h, as well as a dose-effect relationship, both in the frequency of abnormal metaphases and the frequency of breaks, mainly chromatid ones. The cytostatic and clastogenic mechanism of action is discussed.
