Historically informed performance of early music in the Czech Republic through the eyes of its actors

Abstract
The lecture at the International Conference of the JAMU Faculty of Music (JAMUsica 2021) introduced the audience to music historical research among Czech musicians on historically informed performance. The author discussed the motives of the actors to enter this performance stream, the specific community that has formed around it, the position of freelance musicians in society, their conception of historical place and time, or their perception and experience of their field.
He also addressed the prognosis of Czech baroque musicians and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their professional and personal lives.
