The aim of the publication is to present the role of multimedia in foreign language teaching and to show how it has an impact on improving students' communication skills, especially in listening comprehension. The author discusses different methodological approaches to developing and supporting this language skill, taking into account the different learning styles and strategies of the learners.
Based on the results of research investigations, she finds out what is the position of listening comprehension in French language teaching in secondary schools, what is the success rate of students in understanding spoken speech and how the use of multimedia can contribute to the correct understanding of spoken speech in a foreign language.
