Abstract
The article deals with some of the effects of the amendment to the criminal regulations implemented by Act No. 333/2020 Coll. This amendment, effective from 1 October 2020, significantly affected both substantive criminal law and procedural law.
The authors focus primarily on changes to the criminal code (the institution of statements to the indictment, the extension of the applicability of plea agreements and undisputed facts, as well as the new institution of pleas). This article presents the selected changes, including the declared reasons for their adoption, identifies the application problems that these institutes could bring, and offers their justified solutions.
