Active Citizenship as a measure of outcomes and the quality of social services

Abstrakt

Citizenship is closely linked to the emergence of so-called welfare state, the historical core of which is the institute of social insurance. However, social insurance cannot be regarded as the sole foundation of the modern welfare state.

The chapter discusses processes which aim to support citizens in exercising their citizenship as one of the roles of welfare states.
