Abstract

The global COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected and continues to affect many areas of our lives, including mental well-being and socio-emotional needs. The current uncertain times and the associated psychological burden also negatively affect the behavior of both adults and pupils.

In the school context, it is necessary to respect the increased psychological burden of students and to address inappropriate behavior of students in a sensitive and effective way, as well as to prevent further conflicts. The article aims to discuss the possibilities of using the concept of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as a set of methods designed to support appropriate behavior of students during distance learning in the implementation of educational activities using online platforms.

Emphasis is placed in the text mainly on the possibilities of prevention of inappropriate behavior and the principles of preventive support of behavior within the entire classroom and school. The preventive support corresponds with the I. tíer of the presented PBIS system.

Due to the comprehensiveness of the whole system, II. and III. tier is in the text only briefly introduced. Content analysis of the literature and foreign methodological materials developed for the PBIS system was chosen as the method of the work.
