Abstract
This contribution will be dedicated to piano etudes of czech composers in the 20th and 21st century and their use in piano education. Some of the etudes which were composed within this period are musically very valuable including didactical intention. i will first introduce summary of these etudes and then present the results of my questionnaire, in which i have tried to find out if piano teachers know these etudes, how often they use them in common practice in piano education and motivate their students playing piano etudes and how teachers are acquainted with contemporary piano literature.
