We present a review study of research on foreign language (FL) learning and teaching that was published in the Czech Republic between 2014 and 2021. We did an exhaustive search of books in the domain of education in the Research, Development and Innovation Information System database (ca. 820), which we coded for relevance to FL learning and teaching (N = 28).
In an analogous manner, we selected 56 relevant doctoral theses from the Thesis database. The publications focused mainly on the most popular foreign languages taught in the Czech Republic (English, German, Russian, French) and on the area of didactics, especially from the teacher's perspective.
