Numerical simulations of photonic structures

Abstract

The focus of the presentation is to deliver a comprehensive overview of the common numerical method for dealing with photonic crystals: namely FDTD, RCWA, and STACK. Another viewpoint from the topological perspective is also presented, together with a guide on calculating the topological invariants for proper classification.
