Abstrakt
Al-Cu-Li based alloys are high strength low density materials used for structural components in the aerospace industry. The AA2195 alloy is a third generation Al-Li based alloy.
It is traditionally DC cast and its thermomechanical processing scheme is well established. Continuous casting methods such as twin-roll casting (TRC) could be used to manufacture these types of alloys in near-net shape.
This reduces the number of required rolling steps and the formation of a significant recrystallized rolling texture. Aditionally, one alloy contains an addition of Sc as a potent grain refining element
