Transfer of Trauma from the Holocaust to the Second Generation of Survivors : Comparison of Development in Czechoslovakia and Israel

Abstract

The paper at the conference was discussing the trauma from the Holocaust transferred from the first to the second generations of survivors. It gave context of the history of pre-war Czech Jewish community, of the war tragedy of Czech Jews and basic information of the case-study, the former Jewish community in Uherský Brod (Ungarisch Brod).

The it described the symptoms of the trauma and gave examples from interviews with survivors and their children both in Czech Republic and Israel to offer comparison what was the situation of survivor families in the State of Israel and in the communist Czechoslovakia.
